When I predicted that the digital broadcast transition would bring about a renaissance in network television, I was wrong about one thing. The renaissance starts now, it’s not waiting for February (or probably and pathetically, June).
That is because people are excited about HD, they want HD and when good HD is provided they eat it up. Nom nom nom. Football is fantastic in HD, even I like watching it and I hate team sports. I’m looking forward for TV to continue to become more epic and cinematic to capture the kind of audience that is out there for good HD content.
My recommendation: Get an HD TV and an antenna, pay for it by cancelling your cable or satellite service. The good stuff is once again free. And the rest is already on the internet.
